Matilda The Musical is the award-winning musical from the Royal Shakespeare Company, inspired by the beloved book by the incomparable Roald Dahl. With book by Dennis Kelly and original songs by Tim Minchin, Matilda The Musical is the story of an extraordinary little girl who, armed with a vivid imagination and a sharp mind, dares to take a stand and change her own destiny. Matilda is unloved by her cruel parents but impresses her schoolteacher Miss Honey who vows to help her. During her first term at school, the two forge a bond as Miss Honey begins to recognize and appreciate Matilda's extraordinary personality. School life at Crunchem Hall isn't completely smooth sailing, however – the terrifying headmistress, Miss Trunchbull, hates children and just loves to punish those who don't abide by her rules. But Matilda has courage and wit in equal amounts and is not afraid to stand up for what’s right.
